Create an itinerary including Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area
Taking its name from the serpent-like path cut by glaciers along the surrounding Niagara Escapement, Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area bursts with life and outdoor excursions. Spanning nearly 100 sq km (38.6 sq mi) of biodiverse landscape, the region is a natural playground for all ages, offering 17 campsites, four developed trails of varying difficulty and for the daredevils, rock climbing across three designated sights. If you're looking for a relaxing ramble, take the Rabbit Run or Vista Adventure for easy inclines and breathtaking panoramic views from Nassagaweya Lookout. For those seeking a challenge, hike the Nassagaweya Canyon Trail, a four hour round trip taking you to Crawford Lake. If hiking, bring plenty of water and a picnic. • This was a very nice hike. This park is connected to Crawford Lake via Bruce Trail. I recommend wearing hiking shoes. There are a lot of rock climbing spots as well and the hike is very pleasant. I would say it has both easy and medium difficulty trails. All the trails are very well marked with both sign posts and little colored plastic marks on the trees, so you always know where you are. Also the main trails and sub-trails are well marked with the Blazes. Very enjoyable, totally recommend!
  • Great place to hike and enjoy the beautiful fall colours. Various lookout points thorough out the trails, which gives view of the city below. There are 4 different trails, each with varying length. The trails are not difficult, making it easy to use with kids/ pets/ elderly. Over all it’s a well maintained & clean conversation area. Personally found the price is a little expensive.
  • This place was absolutely incredible. The view and the walk along the trail was great. We got to see the fall colors at its best and the lookouts located at different points gave ideal viewing spots. I felt that the view from the Buffalo Crag lookout was the best among the ones we visited and it made the hike worth the effort.
  • I visited Rattlesnake Point for the very first time last Saturday and was not disappointed. The trails are awesome and challenging. The look out was captivating! The autumn color are exceptionally showy this year and Rattlesnake Point is definitely the place to take it all in. I was hoping to catch some people rock climbing but perhaps on my next trip. The only thing missing is a creek or lake.
  • Highly recommend this spot to experience beautiful autmn foliage and vibrant fall colours. The adventure trail was a lot of fun and the Buffalo Crag Trail lookout did not disappoint! We went early at 9 am when the park just opened and there were a handful of visitors. We enjoyed the peace and serenity without the crowds and by the time we left around 12:30 the trails had become a lot busier. The hikes here are a must do fall activity!
