See an impressive architectural landmark and place of worship at Cathedral of Marie-Reine-du-Monde, a minor basilica. Construction was completed in 1894, with the large church displaying a baroque architectural style and reaching a height of 77 m (252 ft) at the cupola, dominating the adjoining square. Designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2000, the basilica's notable features include exterior statues of the patron saints of Montreal's 13 parishes, a great organ, and a stucco crucifix sculpted by Philippe Hebert. Beautiful basilica! Closer to hotels for mass and 8am Sunday mass is in English - we had a singer with a beautiful voice, and the homily was excellent. (Notre Dame masses are all in French.)

Great ceiling and dome from both inside and out. Reminiscent of St Peter's in Rome. Incense from a recent service still wafting around added to the atmosphere.

The cathedral is really very impressive . It has several naves. The security reminded my to not take photos or walk around during the worship service. He was outstanding, friendly. It is not packed, but worth a visit. I recommend a visit if you are in Montreal. The entrance is free, but I they prepared to take a donation for those in need. I really enjoyed my visit - thanks a lot

March 08, 2023 CATHEDRAL - BASILICA Mary Queen of the World and St. James the Greater Mary Queen of the World Cathedral is located in the heart of downtown Montreal, right across from the Dorchester Square. It is also close to the Metro station Bonaventure, orange line. This Cathedral is ABSOLUTELY Stunning! A Masterpiece! I was walking around and I noticed this huge, beautiful Cathedral. I entered its vast doors and was welcomed by the most friendliest staff. As soon I entered the Cathedral, I was in Awe. Mesmerized by the beauty. This is the most amazing and peaceful, place I have had the blessing to visit. The interior is extremely impressive. I couldn't stop taking pictures of every inch. I actually took over 200 photos, but I could only share some of them. I have also shared photos of the Pamphlet provided by the Staff, explaining the History and details about every inch of this Cathedral inside and the outside. LOVE the architecture and Immaculate details that are put into this stunning Cathedral. The aisle walls are decorated with beautiful large paintings depicting the early events in the founding of the City. The Cupola will take your breath away. The altar is so elegant. Amazing Acoustics. Just Exquisite! I honestly felt the presence of the greater power. It is a great place to pray and just sit there in peace and meditate. We visit Montreal once a year for the past several years and I can't believe I didn't know this Cathedral existed. When in Montreal, this a must visit Cathedral. Unlike some of the other places/Cathedrals/Basilicas, there is no admission fee to enter this Cathedral. 🙏

My first ever Cathedral that I have ever been too, wow what a fantastic sight. I wouldn’t believe how amazing it looked from the outside but it’s so beautiful inside. I visited Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral in January 2019 and it was amazing, the architecture was lovely, it was nice and relaxing being here, would highly recommend people coming here for something enjoyable and free to do.

This was such a beautiful church. The staff were super nice and the priest even blessed the bracelet I bought from their shop. If I lived near by I would definitely visit more often. It is a super welcoming place and I would 10/10 recommend to visit if you come to Montreal.

It is an extremely beautiful architectural church inside and out. Plus, entrance is free and the staff is extremely nice. Very worth a visit if ever you’re at Downtown Montreal :)
