  • We went to the Jewish section primarily, in search of Leonard Cohen's final resting spot. It was unassuming but it was clear that he was missed.

  • This place is huge and there are a lot of hills. If you're going to look specific or notable graves it can easily be a 15 minute walk between sections. NO BIKES ALLOWED. it's also hard to find...

  • Myriam is the Director of Heritage Programs at Mount Royal Cemetery ... her historical walking tours are the kind you always hope to get but are so very rare ... her information is organized...

  • Best decorated cemetery in Montreal in my opinion, lots and lots to see and very well decorated place! I really enjoyed seeing the different types of beautiful graves that the dead were buried in!
  • Wonderful setting. Every visit is memorable. The cemetery grounds sprawl across the mountainside with lots of roadways and walkways winding through the different sections. The experience of attending a family gravesite is powerful. The gates, the buildings, the monuments: it’s a testament to tradition.
  • My sisters & I were all very grateful for the Respect & Courtesy of all the Staff when we buried our mother recently . What a peaceful resting place for our ancestors.
  • Beautiful and peaceful place not only for long resting people but also for visiters just come from the lively city outside. life is short , family is important, not money.
  • Beautiful cemetery. Staff were extremely helpful in assisting us to find our Grandmother's resting place. We were searching for a head stone when in fact there wasn't one. A caretaker even helped us saying we were deginatly in the right spot....so we phoned the office and the lovely lady was able to direct us to the proper spot. A tree had been planted instead if a stone. Really special to see. Thanks to everyone who went out of their way!
