Create an itinerary including Notre-Dame Basilica
See the jewel of Canada's religious heritage at Notre-Dame Basilica, one of the world's most dramatic examples of Gothic Revival architecture. The majestic church boasts hundreds of intricately carved wooden statues in a grand interior that holds up to 4,000 worshippers--all under a blue ceiling speckled with gold stars. Instead of depicting religious scenes, the stained glass windows narrate the history of Montreal and offer a glimpse into the city's development over the centuries. The church regularly hosts musical events, with the main concert taking place at Christmas, when thousands attend the performance of Handel's "Messiah." With our international travel planner, Montreal attractions like Notre-Dame Basilica can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • It is the most beautiful church i have ever been to. The area is huge and the interior is so pretty. The statues and paintings all have history behind it. It was nice to know the our past is preserved in such an honourable way. The upper area was closed at the time. But the front alone is gigantic. You can sit there for hours and feel the serenity.
  • During COVID times, as with everything else, advanced reservations were required to enter. Purchased tickets for the light show here. It is one of the top ten greatest experiences I've ever had. The animations and accompanying music was absolutely breathtaking. After the show, the house lights came on and we were able to view the basilica in its natural splendor. A site not to be missed
  • What s historical landmark, the Gothic European architecture is so amazing all the interior design details are incredible. It's great place to worship also get a museum like experience. The live music was playing when we walked in the immense organ sounds captivating.
  • What a breathtaking experience AURA was. I had never seen something like that before — not even in the Tokyo digital arts expo. Sublime and perfectly developed. I’m not religious myself but the show has nothing to with the catholic credo. The basilica is gorgeous in its own right, but aura makes it a thousand times incredible. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Montreal
  • It's a very beautiful place that has an amazing architecture from the outside and the inside is even more stunning. The light show at night was an incredibly amazing experience. You can take pictures before the show starts but filming and taking pictures of the show is not allowed. You are allowed to stay inside for quite a while after the show and walk around to see the place or buy a separate site seeing ticket for a self guided tour in the morning hours. Tickets can be purchased online and you have the option of buying a combo for both siteseeing and the light show. A must see place if you're visiting Montreal.
