  • A great place to explore. Wear a sweater or jacket as it's quite cool inside. They have a very comprehensive display of the history of canning on the west coast, and in this plant in particular. Lots of unique equipment and tools and a very comprehensive history with pictures and signage. 30 to 45 minutes with a nice attached gift shop and knowledgeable and very friendly staff.
  • So much to see here! Not just about the 125+ years and the various lives this facility has taken on, but also information on fishing, industry, immigrant workers at the turn of the 20th century, and more. The guided school tour was very informative and interactive. The facility itself is very well maintained, loads to look at and interact with. Well stocked gift shop too!
  • Guided tours of historic Salmon canning facility and herring oil extraction facility. Incredibly educational and memorable. The machines still work and all the equipment is either original or authentic. Tickets are about $10 per person, free for youth under 18. Great to learn about local history. Tour guides were very knowledgeable when I asked questions.
  • If you like fish, history, canning, machines, Canadiana, and museums. This is the place for you. A seriously unique and well maintained museum on the rich history of fishing and canning in British Columbia. Very educational. There are a ton of old machines, fishing paraphernalia, and displays here. Keep an eye on the walls to see decade old fish scales!
  • A hidden gem. Great for kids to see on a rainy day! The technological improvements in the operations of canned food are very well depicted. The federal government funds this place so the staffing is excellent and place is meticulously maintained
