Soak in the sun’s rays or go for a refreshing dip in the sea at English Bay Beach. Located on the city’s west end, the popular Vancouver beach invites visitors to soft golden sands, which meet calm waters lined with boats parked offshore. The bustling beach was home to the city’s first official lifeguard, and remains patrolled today. Facilities at the beach include kayak rental shops, two volleyball courts, swimming rafts with large slides, a beachfront cafe, and beach wheelchairs for handicapped visitors. • Nice place to get your feet wet and watch the city in action. You can also swim if you're adventurous or very hot.

  • We like to go there. We went many times already since we moved here because it was my husband favorite beach when he used to live in that area. We like to rent bicycles and go to Stanly park then back to take a rest at the beach. We just had a wonderful night watched fireworks so gorgeous sunset. We always got lucky to find parking spot so no problem for us. Perfect beach to relaxing for the whole family
  • Literally the best sunset I have ever seen in my life. Most romantic way to watch the day end. Tons of restaurants nearby or an LC if you want to grab some drinks. Water is cold as all get out in Sept but a therapeutic dip to practice your deep breathing and meditation. Cannot believe this sunset.
  • Love the sunsets , ❤️ always. One of the prettiest sunsets in Canada , specially when there are some clouds around. A must visit when you may be in Vancouver or BC in general. Great variety of restaurants for formal or casual dining / take out. Vegi and Halal shops abound. Budget at least couple of hours for a long walk and sit at the beach 🏖 to soak in the sun set. Visiting this place for past 49 years and not tired of it at all. Stay blessed and Enjoy it.
  • This is my most favourite Beach in Vancouver. Always try to reach early in the morning when there is less crowd and you can peacefully enjoy the beach. Mind you the water is freezing but you can try your nerves if you are up for it😆 Fantastic place to spend the day an hour any amount of time you have here. One of the fun ways is to scoot in summer all the way from the Stanley park sea wall or Canada place and enjoy the breathtaking views of the sea 🌊 We always take the transit here so no worries about parking but if you reach early there is ample parking around the neighbourhood. Loads of small food joints to restaurants bustling with energy and joy. Great pubs for you to hang out with friends. It give you a perfect holiday vibe without travelling far away. There is something for everyone here. A must see when in Vancouver.
  • Stunning spot anytime of year for a walk around the sea wall. Don’t miss the sculptures and view points looking out towards the barges with the city skyline in the background. English Bay Beach itself is spacious with a good balance of sand, rocks to sit on, and benches. There are several restaurants and food kiosks (especially in the summer months). There are also ample public restrooms along the seawall, and close to the beach.
