Nicknamed the "Dumbbell Island" because of its shape, Cheung Chau Island features six temples, long sandy beaches, sea food restaurants, a 3000-year-old rock carving, and a cave, which was allegedly the hiding place of a famous 19th-century pirate. Cycle or hike to the natural rock sculptures on the east side of the island, molded by weather into shapes resembling a flower vase and a human head. The Mini Great Wall, which is actually a long path, offers many vantage points over the sea. • Laid-back island with its own fire station, bank, schools, and many supermarts. Famous for seafoods and resorts. Took ferry from Central Pier (can purchase tickets on the spot). You can rent bicycles around the island
  • Take the fast ferry about 30 mins across the Harbour front to reach island. Hiked up the mini wall of China - the whole hike takes about 1.5 hours, including stops to enjoy the view and take some photos. Must visit Cheung Poh Tsai cave. Its narrow and dark and takes less than 5 mins to walk thru it.
  • AbFab island, 30 minutes from Central, where you can buy fresh lobster and fish at the market and take it to be cooked in a BYO wine restaurant, after hiking along the Little Great Wall….
  • Cheung Chau is one of the Hong Kong Islands that I love to visit. I can find many activities that I can do here , and I can find all different kind of foods that I enjoy very much . My every visit is a wonderful one and like to come back again and again.
  • Cheung Chau Island is a hidden gem in Hong Kong that is definitely worth a visit. I recently spent a day on the island and was blown away by its natural beauty, charming streets, and laid-back atmosphere. The island's beaches are pristine and the water is crystal clear, perfect for swimming or simply lounging on the sand. The local seafood is fresh and delicious, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The island is also rich in history, with ancient temples, traditional houses, and even a pirate cave to explore. I highly recommend taking a day trip to Cheung Chau Island for a relaxing and unforgettable experience.
