Create an itinerary including Ladies Market
Pick up souvenirs and gifts at Ladies Market, a public street market filled with products for everyone, not just women. In addition to discounted brand-name clothing and accessories, which may or may not be real, also find typical Chinese-style items like cushions, silk, linens, chopsticks, and more. Do not accept the first price you are given. Vendors notoriously hike up prices for foreign shoppers, so remember to haggle the cost down to at least 30 percent. Before you leave, visit the unique Bird Market on Yuen Po Street to see about 100 stalls selling singing birds. Put Ladies Market into our Hong Kong tour planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Hong Kong.

  • Our HK trip was fabulous till we visited Moko ladies market. The first stall my wife had entered and was checking out purses, the lady from the inside shouted at us saying “no money, dont touch my purses or don’t waste my time”. We were completely astonished when we heard that. Maybe we didn’t look so upscale to fit for buying from that shop!! 😀 But calling us like that was very strange. We have been to more than 20 countries so far, lived in multiple countries before. But never ever got such treatment. We felt so down, we picked up a cab and went back to the hotel! Maybe this is one of incidents and I believe many of you have positive thoughts about Moko! I am not going to give 2 star rating as we didn’t explore anything after that incident. I have only two photos to share!
  • Before buying anything make sure you visit all stalls, as prices vary significantly for same items. Not recommended make purchases at night as overpriced.
  • Well if your looking for the cheap stuff and good to compromise quality - you’ll love this place. Other than that it’s just great for street photography…
  • You can find sneakers stores but nothing much there. Opposite of the road has a huge mall with a very long escalator. Must experience it.
  • Very sad that Ladies Market has become so cold and deserted post pandemic. There is probably 50% stalls open and tourists are non existence.
