  • Worth every step of the way. Make sure to start early on as it gets very hot and humid during the day. Take time to enjoy the monastery at the top!

  • A bit hard to find the entrance. But it's good place for you if you want to find quite and peace place, far from crowded town. It's a pleasure to reach here by walking from down to up using stairs. There's a lot of monk statues along the stairs. This is the Buddhist temple, so if you're expect something fancy or entertain, please don't come here because this is place where you seek for quite, calm and peaceful place. And also pray if you want. It's allowed to take photo at the stairs, and outside of the temple, but it's not allowed to take photo inside the building where there's a lot of tiny Buddha inside the building, please be mindful and respect people who want to pray.
  • Fun hike and adventure out to this scenic monastery. Shocking amount of statues and detail along the way to the top and even more elaborate architecture and art at the top. This is 100% worth a visit when in Hong Kong. There is so much to digest while walking up the winding path that it requires you to stop many times to take it all in. Visit during an early, cool morning.
  • An interesting spectacle cum temple that requires a decent amount of effort to appreciate. Climbing on a warm day results in getting a good sweat on. There are frequent spots to stop and rest if you feel the need. There is no entry fee. Cold drinks can be purchased for $10 near the pagoda.
  • What a cool and unique experience! To get to 10,000 Buddhas monastery, you essentially have to hike up from the base of the mountain in Sha Tin all the way to the lower Terrace where the main temple is located. The entire path up is lined on both sides with life size golden Buddha statues (not the 10,000 Buddhas) each with a unique pose. On the lower Terrace, you see the Pagoda and the main hall where the 10,000 (actually ~13,000) Buddha statues are housed. On the upper terrace, there are a few other temples and a small courtyard lined on all 4 sides with gray colored statues of Generals, as per the Chinese horoscope. If you’re lucky, you may also get some monkey action while visiting the Pagoda. :)
  • Nice hike from the base of the mountain to the top where the Buddhist monastery is located. Pictures to be taken from start to finish and nice to relax at the top and take in the sights it has to offer.
