Part of the French Concession area, Tian Zi Fang has transformed from a traditional residential area into a modern arts and crafts enclave. Supported and swarmed by young designers, trend setters, and expatriates, the labyrinthine district houses numerous boutique shops, workshops, studios, bars, and restaurants. The area blends Shikumen buildings with British- and Spanish-styled castles, traditional Chinese meals with international flavors, and the eastern culture with a western charm. A lot of boutiques and galleries offer a variety of handmade novelty souvenirs for sale, arrive early to purchase them, as such limited editions sell out quickly. This place is so cute and has an abundance of little boutique shops. Plenty of places to eat too for lunch or dinner. A great place to show your guests around

An ancient village in the heart of Shanghai. Its a beautiful authentic old part of Shanghai that still looks unouched and is the best spot get some food and gift, also get lovely photoshoot.

Very nice market in the old Shanghai Street maze. It might feel a bit as a tourist trap but it’s worth going just to get the idea of the old times. Moreover, some shops are really nice and you can find typical souvenirs with a bit more local flair. Here no bargaining and you can pay with card in most shops. Many restaurants or food stands as well. Close to the metro stop.

Amazing place where you can appreciate the real culture of China, you can enjoy delicious food, buy presents, I did the Pearl tea tour what I highly recommend if you go to Shanghai. It is a very memorable experience for me. 👌🎊

Too touristy, doesn‘t really feel authentic anymore. Some restaurants and cafés located within Tianzifang are really good and nice to hang out though. Can fully recommend the indian restaurant and the café in the center are which has been renovated very nicely recently.

"Shaghai's well kept art and craft enclave" Most of the area around Shanghai was renovated as a plan of city development however Tianzifang is the only place which keeps its old heritage till now. Walking along the way I could see lot of art stores, bars, design stores, restaurants on either sides of the road. The historic buildings are still maintained and most of the place is filled with art galleries promoting their sales. Even though this is one of the main tourist spots in Shanghai and has lot of crowd all through out the day but its still kept well clean and maintained, even the smaller streets around this area. I was walking along the street going through every snack stores and trying out their free samples. I really enjoy spending time in places like these. This is a small place and the amount of time can be spent can not be estimated. By looking at the restaurants &a bars it was safe to say that this is a place of interest for foreigners than the locals. Most of them either enjoying the food & beverages while reading books and somewhere enjoying the art and interacting with the artists.
