Arenal Sanctuary Reserve, La Fortuna de San Carlos

This is a fantastic place! Jairo is a great guide. We saw several sloths, frogs, and various other flora and fauna. Please visit this, it is one of the rare nature conservation zones in town and will get cut down without sufficient customers.

We signed up for a night tour with Jairo and thoroughly enjoyed our evening! We started out the night by observing a falcon, sloth, and iguana using his telescope (and taking some awesome pictures). We then entered the jungle area, where Jairo had built areas specifically for animal breeding. Within minutes, we observed a toad, several varieties of frogs, and a snake (surprise!) Walking through the forest, we also spotted a sleeping toucan, several bats, and another small bird. Jairo was professional and extremely knowledgeable, answering all of our questions and supplementing the tour with information from his phone's app. The tour ended with fresh pineapple and cold water. I would highly recommend this tour for animal-lovers of all ages -- you won't regret it!

We did a night walk tour and saw many different kinds of frogs. And the highlight? Two toucans sleeping! The guide was very knowledgeable and he also designed/planted parts of the forest to establish biodiversity. I very much enjoyed our chats on conservation, and I would highly recommend this tour if you are in La Fortuna!

Highly recommended. This is a must! I booked a night guided tour and the experience was just amazing. We saw lots of different frogs, toucans, iguanas, etc. The tour was done with lots of passion and knowledge of course. They even brought me back to the hotel!! Keep up the good work guys.
