These are only a few of the photos we captured at this wonderful trail. There’s many more on my camera of sloths , birds, butterflies , and frogs that were throughout the area . I highly highly recommend this place, and I would suggest that you get a tour guide. 35$ per person may seem like a lot, as some of the other reviews state , but for us it was well worth it and we would honestly do it again. There’s just no way we could have spotted the sloths on our own, and maybe a few of the people that couldn’t spot them would have had a better experience with a guide. We saw a total of 5 sloths including a baby. I would suggest Eduardo as a tour guide , he was truly engaging and helped us have a phenomenal time . He’s full of stories about the history nearby and will go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience .

This was an easy, flat hike. We were lucky enough to have a guide available to take us through (highly recommended!). Without a guide it would have been near impossible to see wildlife as they are well hidden in their natural habitat. Our guide, William, is incredibly knowledgeable as he grew up in La Fortuna area. William scouted out many sloths for us to see and helped us take incredible photos with our phones through his telescope. I'd highly recommend this tour - it's been our best chance of seeing wildlife while in Costa Rica.

Great place for sloths and bird watching/photography. This place has two entrances (two different business names). This one is the best one to enter as it has better prices and you're supporting the original. Mr. Bogarin was a delight. Happy to share about the history of the place and talk about the wildlife. Beatrice was an excellent guide as well. Highly recommend hiring a guide as we would not have seen sloths without them. We saw a few sloths, tree frogs, and many beautiful birds. Photos taken with my 600mm f/4 and 135mm f/1.8 lenses.

Don’t be fooled by the signs of the place next door- their neighbor charges $50 per person and they weren’t friendly. We looked up this place and immediately they were welcoming and charged us WAY LESS! Jason, our guide, was THE MAN: informative, patient, and wildly talented at his job. We saw so many creatures we never would have seen ourselves. He also helped take photos and videos with the scope which was incredible. I wanted to see a poisonous frog and he literally hunted one down and found one in 2 minutes!!! It was amazing to see someone so passionate about their job. We ended the tour with eating some delicious pineapple. The owner built this to preserve wildlife and animals are able to come and go as they please. They aren’t caged in. Support them- this is for a good cause. Animals seen: multiple sloths and a baby!, toucans (eating a rat!) , poisonous frogs, wild Turkey, iguana, a sensitive plant, and other beautiful birds!

We had such an amazing time here! Our guide, William, was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we got to see a lot of wildlife and take good pictures! Also his English was great! I highly recommend this tour. Do not do this tour without a guide. You won’t see as much! The tour guides are experts at spotting things. Thank you Bogarin family!
