Sunbathe, swim, and enjoy a variety of water sports as you explore the sand, pebble, and rock beaches of Lapad. Rent a canoe or jet ski and go for a ride along the coast, visiting all the beaches in the bay. To wander on foot, start from the long boulevard at the end of the beaches and stroll the path leading all around the bay. Parts of the peninsula are pedestrian only, but most hotels in the area have plenty of parking facilities. Other amenities include bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, volleyball and tennis courts, and sun chairs and beach umbrellas for rent. • We hired a speed boat and headed out, we needed a brew and the Barbour master allowed us to more up for free. The island is quaint and the people friendly, we had coffee and a cake before heading off.

  • Lovely island on the approach - no cars , bliss - went to the ‘golden beach’ at the other side of the island - it was very disappointing , very highly littered , with all sorts , not a nice beach

  • Little easy going gem 10 min from Newtown Dubrovnik 👍
  • So close yet so far. Lapad is beautiful place to stay and explore without the busyness and expense old town. Beautiful Riva, sunsets and Views.
  • Lovely place near old town and Gruž Lapad is a large peninsula (not an island ! as some websites claim) situated just outside of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, on its Western side (check its location on the map). The distance to the airport is about 22 kilometres (14 miles approx) and to the Old Town is about 4 km (2.5 miles). Getting there: To reach the peninsula from the Old City you can take a bus from Pile Station  – Libertas bus number 2, number 6 or 4 (see a map of public transport). The ride takes anything between 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the area of the suburb you are going to.
