  • Beautiful spot outside of Dubrovnik. They only have 2 white wines (which are award wining) but both are fantastic. Don’t make the same mistake that I did and be sure to bring cash so you can buy a...

  • Total sham! The winery up charged us ~$20 per bottle (later claiming a "tourist price") when we purchased. We knew the price she was quoting was higher than usual when we bought it but agreed to it given that the owner had allowed us a brief tasting even when they were closed. We only later realized how ridiculous the price was when we found the exact same wine in an old city souvenir shop for $12 less! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. This is literally the only place I've encountered in Croatia that tries to scam tourists like this. You will have no problem finding better wine and friendly, honest proprietors elsewhere.
  • Our family recently visited Karaman and did a tasting of their white and dessert wines. While we liked the white, a Malvasija Dubrovačka, and bought a case, we later learned that we were severely overcharged given that we were tourists. We were charged €35 per bottle at the winery and then found the same wine in a gift shop in the Old Town for €23. Our local guide and dear friend was mortified by our experience and was told by the proprietor that we were charged a "tourist price". I'd strongly caution anyone from visiting this winery - there are many other fantastic producers in the region such as Ćurlin and Damarius.
  • a nice winery. The owner is very friendly and opened. The wines are good.
  • As part of our drive around the Konavle region, we wanted to visit a winery. It could have been any but we happened on Karaman. What a find. Anita was friendly and informative. The scenery was gorgeous. The wine was delicious. So much so that we bought a case.
  • I was looking for local wines and culture of the Dubrovnik region and wanted to do something really grassroots/unique when we visited. The only real wine region we saw was Pelješac about an hour from the Old Town, so we chose Winery Karaman because their website/business was incredibly polished and the only one within 30/45 minutes of old town that was listed. We were unsure of whether this winery had tours or even a tasting room when we showed up, but boy were we pleasantly surprised. We called ahead on one of the numbers on their website called "Niko" (who is incidentally the owner of the winery) and were able to secure a tasting despite his weak english. His wife, Anita, led the tour for us and educated the group about all the ins and outs of the region and their wine. Both hosts were incredibly hospitable when we arrived and showed us the whole winery, and were beyond eager to share their understanding of the local wine culture. Further, we got to taste both their prosseco and white wine offerings which were superb! The property is beautiful and the tasting area is very clean and put together. Their wine is a unique local tradition that is not available anywhere outside of the area so do grab a bottle before you leave! Highly suggest anyone skeptical of the Winery to make a trip out to see what it's all about. Make sure you call Anita instead of Niko however if you want to book a tour/tasting, since Niko's english is a bit weak. Wonderful wine, great location, and excellent owners.
