Create an itinerary including Biokovo
Rising imposingly above the Adriatic Sea, Biokovo and its chain of peaks stretch down to the ocean. From the nearby town of Makarska, you can ascend 2.9 km (1.8 mi) of trails to the accessible peak to explore the rocky terrain. Travel along the sign-posted pathways, and you may even end up at Vosac, the range's highest point at more than 1,760 m (5,774 ft). If you prefer, you can join one of the many guided tours offered at the Biokovo nature park, which include natural- and cultural-themed trips. Take the guesswork out of planning a Makarska vacation by using our trip itinerary maker.

  • Nice, sturdy construction. Walking on it it's an interesting experience especially for those afraid of heights. The view it's nice but far from spectacular, better view from Vosac cabin. Time spent...

  • I truly recommend to drive up to the top. It is worth additional time and effort. I’ve read a lot how demanding this road can be… to be honest I found it quite soft. You can see the road on one of my photos. The most challenging part might probably be driving backwards on this narrow road when two cars must pass each other. Tickets can be purchased via web page.
  • The view is amazing but I recommend to visit this place on the last tour and wait until all people finish taking pictures if you want to fully enjoy this place
  • A little afraid of heights, but everything else is worth seeing, beautiful
  • It’s ok. I saw that people with height fright were very excited. The road is tricky, but rather for those who go first time in the mountains with a car. Going there, you should go to the mountain top (Svieti Jure), otherewise it is a lackluster event in my book.
  • Had I known how narrow and dangerous the road up to skywalk was I would have not gone but I’m pleased I didn’t know because the view is spectacular and sense of achievement beats the downsides. :-)
