Fakin Wines, Motovun

During our Croatia visit in the summer we definitely had to hit up some wineries in the north of Istria. When we arrived at Fakin wines, it was already quite late in the day but Luca took a lot of time to talk us through the different wines we were tasting, and even had us try an additional one (you can purchase 'package' tastings) for free. He was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed not only the wines, but also the company and conversations about 'god and the world' with him. Thanks again Luca for a beautiful tasting experience, and all the best for 'wine school'!

First of all the wine tasting was very interesting and fun, and you get to learn a little bit how they make the wine and what’s the differences between them. Our guide was very talkative and liked to chit-chat. The wines were fantastic, and if you ask you can see the wining room with all the barrels, but you have to call in advance to get a tour on the fields, but if you just want the wine tasting you can just drop by. Ps: they only take cash and not credit card, and we didn’t have so much cash so that was a little bit sad. But we got to taste a lot.

We spent the day in Motovan and saw a lot of Fakin wine being sold. We realized our Airbnb was close so decided to visit the tasting room. We were greeted by Luka. Luka takes hospitality to a new level. We ended up staying and visiting a couple hours. Everything there was incredible! We purchased some items but sadly we were leaving the next day and did not have a lot of room. Good news!! They ship to America! We also wanted T shirts that they were sold out of in the store. Luka had them brought down from the shop in Motovan the next morning so we could pick them up. Highly recommend spending time here if you are in the area. We also were fortunate enough to meet the shop dog.

Fakin winery was recommended to us for wine tasting while visiting Motovun. The host at the winery was super friendly and created an amazing atmosphere. Moreover, we found two new favorite Croatian wines. Also, bathroom is very aesthetic.

Just visited your vinary in Batai having acquired villa nearby and tried your rose (served by Dominic) realy amazing local wine certainly hope to visit your place in Motovun itself soon.
