Panagia (Monastery) of Kykkos, Pedoulas

It's huge, it's so powerful and yet so peaceful. Monastery is full of art pieces, each holy icon is made from little colourful mosaic pieces and took my breath away! You can walk pretty much everywhere.

First of all - not religious whatsoever. But worth visiting? Definitely. The way the spaces interact, the artwork in both mosaic and paint, absolutely everywhere - is very special. It's quite surreal leaving the tranquility of the monastery to be back on the open winding roads of the mountains.

Its interesting, feels very rich. Make sure u have something to cover shoulders/legs with as decency police is at the entrance. Museum paid extra 5euros.

It's nice for what it is. Place was a bit icy, which is completely understandable. However I thought they would at least prepare for tourists by spreading some salts around to melt the ice and provide grip.

These days a wonderful place to visit because you feel like you are almost alone in the Monastery. You can walk around relatively free and look at what you want to look at. We spent more time here, than we thought, because we also visited the museum (for which you have to pay 5€) and it was worth it! The church is really beautiful and the decorations there but also everywhere else in the monastery are stunning. It’s much bigger than we thought! Don’t miss going up the hill to the statue and higher up to the second church, which was locked unfortunately. Bit still the view looks amazing and the upper church is really beautiful outside.
