  • Albeit small this comes with a punch, it's like they took only the most refined artefacts from the region and decided to use them to tell the story of Christ. The mind behind the curation is really a wonderful and Christ loving person, I've seen plenty of such museums and this is the best. The story of Christ begins with the most valuable exhibit of the collection, the Madonna of Veveri, an icon with Italian and Byzantine traits that is, unbelievably, given how well it is preserved, from the 1340s!! From this you move through seven rooms with sculptures, paintings and the typical cult objects you'd expect to see in such a museum, from the birth of Christ to His Resurrection. There are essential quotes from the Bible to help guide the story as well. Most exhibits are old and beautiful, remarkably well preserved and presented The staff are quite knowledgeable and speak English well. There was a temporary exhibition on contemporary takes on faith that I didn't personally like but I did like that such a museum is open minded enough to allow such exhibits to be presented
  • super!

  • The Diocesan Museum in Brno was founded in 1993 as the first similar institution after the change in social conditions in the Czech Republic. It is a publicly accessible museum-type institution focused on art and liturgical objects and literature. Its founder is the Brno Diocese and it is a full member of the Association of Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic. You can go through several (charged) circuits.
  • A small museum presenting exhibits that, due to their value and uniqueness, cannot be kept in the churches and buildings of the Brno diocese. The rarest and most beautiful is the Madonna of Veveří. You can buy souvenirs at the cash desk.
