Convent of St Agnes of Bohemia - National Gallery Prague
At Convent of St Agnes of Bohemia - National Gallery Prague, trace the development of Czech art, starting with mid-14th-century panel paintings and sculptures, then moving on to 15th- and the early-16th-century oil paintings executed in the International style. The authentic environment of a Gothic convent is the backdrop for an exhibit of medieval and early Renaissance art depicting mostly religious subjects. A 13th-century princess who opted for a life of charity and piety over a life of luxury and comfort founded the convent and became its first abbess. The convent is also renowned as being haunted by the ghost of the Unhappy Nun.
