The square surrounding Prague Astronomical Clock is one of the most crowded spots in all of Prague, attracting tourists eager to synchronize their watches with one of the world's oldest timepieces. The town hall, founded here in the 1330s, houses the old town's main tourist office and has art exhibits on its first two floors. You can take a guided tour of the building to see its council chamber and assembly room, noted for containing exquisite mosaics from the 1930s. Be sure to climb the building's Gothic tower to see the inner workings of the famous astronomical clock, considered one of medieval Europe's major technical achievements. The clock's decorative figures put on a lively show on the hour, so time your visit if possible. You can plan Prague trip in no time by asking Klarna Trips to help create your itinerary.

This was so fun to visit and watch! On the hour, the little, glass windows at the top open, showing the different apostles/saints rotating behind the clock face. The clock sits in the middle of Old Town Square, so it was pretty busy both times that I went. On the hour, specifically, it was pretty challenging to get close to it as people wanted to watch/listen to the chimes. It's worth it, though! This quirky clock is definitely a must-go if you are visiting Prague.

This review is only for the workers here, as I couldn't go up to the tower. People so, so rude. There was a system error so you could only buy with cash. They clearly told me there was no problem at all with cash. So I go to withdraw cash to the bank (not a single one close) and when I came back, another worker told me that that was false, I can't buy with cash now. What happened between those exact 20 minutes? Who knows. Maybe they didn't feel like working at all and wanted to go home early (this was 17:30 by the way). Not a single sorry for lying to your face. Nothing. Just a "fork you", we don't care. Update: up to 3 stars, because the views deserve better rating, the rest still applies. It's perfect at sunset, so you can view the area by day and night if you wait. The rooftops at sunset are great to look at. But you get pretty much the same (plus the bridge itself) views facing the Castle from Charles Bridge and surroundings. You don't gain anything extra from the height though.

We dropped by somewhere and walked across Bridge to get there. Beautiful old town bringing me a lot of curiosity. Enjoying seeing people walking around the old town. Most attractive moment is the clock tower belling which gathered many seeker. Beautiful night lights caught my sight even in cold weather until the first snow in Prague.

The clock is stunning, you should absolutely not miss visiting it when in Prague. I also loved the atmosphere created by it, even if some might complain that is crowded because a lot of people will gather to see "The Walk of the Apostles" I think it just adds to it's charm and makes it a really special event to be there and admire its beauty and sanctity. It's the oldest astronomical clock still in function and you can enjoy viewing it while savouring a local beer in the pubs and restaurants located near by.

One of the busiest places to visit in Prague, especially if you want to see what happens on the hour. We were lucky enough to time it just right and see it strike at 12:00. The crowd was quite large and it can get a bit pushy, so may not be the best for smaller children. There are a couple of cafes located in front of the clock face with out door and undercover seating, so I'd recommend getting into on of these to watch from the comfort of a seat instead of being in the crowd. There are plenty of local shops around the clock that sell clock tower souvenirs and gifts, as it is one of the main sights in the city. Great to see one of the great astronomical clocks still working!
