  • Wonderful little place that is very informative. Loved the model of the islands where you get to see the sea bed - it drops off so steeply in some places like the south side of Floreana.

  • This was a very interesting museum, describing the history of the Galapagos islands. It was a nice stop prior to getting on our flight back home. It talked a little bit about the people who influenced the islands, some of the legends, some of the geology, and then some of the future. Definitely worth a visit, if you have the time.
  • This is only reviewing the exhibits/buildings, not the nature parts. 1. The buildings are very hot and poorly maintained; one of the two buildings was completely closed. 2. As other reviewers stated, much of the information can be found elsewhere. 3. The information is presented in such a way as to make the Galapagos seem like a depressing place that no one would ever want to visit instead of the turtle filled paradise it is. The various information placards have subtitles like “The wall of tears”, “the 17th century: the start of exploitation”, “where brave men weep”, “The cemetery of the tortoises”. 4. It seems like the guides know this place is awful but the National park requires itineraries to terminate here, plus there aren’t a ton of options for tours to do on San cristobal the morning of departure. Save yourself and stay on an air conditioned bus!
  • The interpretation center on San Cristobal helped us to understand the history of the Galápagos Islands and the people of the Galápagos Islands. Our tour took about an hour but it was an informative place with some interesting pathways and architecture.
  • The museum tells the story of Galapagos and is at the same time entrance to the park with nice walks, places to snorkel, to swim and view points. No entrance fee!
  • Came here as our first stop to San Cristobal with Guiding Galapagos in October 2017. Our naturalist guide took us around the Interpretation Center and talked to us about the information provided which was fascinating. The entire history of the Galapagos for both humans and animals. It is like reading a history book on the island by coming here.
