Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco, Quito

We enjoyed this beautiful church, so ornate and artistic! There was so much detail in every direction we looked that we'd probably be there for days to just see every little small thing, but for us about half and hour would have to do. We were able to take all the pictures we wanted as long as we didn't use flash. If you can only visit 1 church in Quito, make it this one.

A really nice church in Quito at San Francisco Square. We went there Right After holy Mass. The church is a Must See in Quito and we were Lucky that we got the Chance to Go inside and have a Look on all the nice Images, Altars, and pictures at the ceiling. I can recommend a visit at the church when you are in Quito, it is an Amazing Place to be.

Well ornamented church. Entrance was 2.5 dollars. However, the guides forbid you to take pictures which seems to be solely done so you buy their photo packs. Can't fool me though :)

Very typical for a church museum. Lots of paintings and art all dedicated to Jesus and religion. Didn’t really learn any thing new but the premises are very pretty. I enjoyed talking with the parrots 🦜 inside!

Impressive! The facade of the Iglesia y Monasterio de San Francisco covers the entire north side of Plaza San Francisco. Between 1535 and 1650, the church and monastic buildings are built around seven courtyards, making this the largest Catholic complex in South America. The elaborately decorated church is definitely worth a visit, as is the Museo de San Francisco.
