Create an itinerary including La Capilla Del Hombre
Immerse yourself in a creative and spiritual journey with a visit to La Capilla Del Hombre, a museum housed in an Inca-inspired chapel. Established by artist and philanthropist Oswaldo Guayasamin, the museum serves as a tribute to humankind, reflecting on suffering and violence but ultimately inspiring hope for a better future. Tragically, Guayasamin died before the opening of his masterpiece, but his spirit lives on in the floor-to-ceiling paintings lining the museum's walls. Take a guided tour in English, Spanish, or French, included in your ticket price. To visit La Capilla Del Hombre on your holiday in Quito, and find out what else Quito has to offer, use our Quito.

  • Expensive in Ecuador at 10$ per person. You can’t enter the house museum without a guide. So you are guided around in a big group and not allowed to venture too far. But seeing the studio was cool. The capilla is impressive, big, and without a lot of explanation.
  • What a magnificent experience! I truly loved the guided tour through Guayasamín's former home; you really feel the artist's passion. And La Capilla del Hombre is spectacular. I rank the entire experience up there with a visit to Monet's gardens -- intimate and inspiring! What a treasure!
  • Awesome museum dedicated to Guayasamin and his collection! Very knowledgeable English guide!
  • Such an amazing story is told here. The tour was in depth, engaging, and evocative. It's the kind of art that makes you pause and think and discover something within yourself. Beautiful buildings & home, as well as all of the art, itself. Plan to spend two hours here or a bit more if you choose to wander the gardens also. Must visit!
  • Wow! This place is beautiful and filled with wonderful works of art. I swear it's much bigger on the inside than the outside. Admission is a bit steep at $8 a head but once you get in and have the tour you will feel the money was well spent. Don't miss this.
