Can't say I'm glad I saw it as there wasn't much to see. Just a collection or guns, swords and documents. The new section for new Egypt is completely unrelated to the museum and made no sense.

An amazing historical palace in Cairo downtown is very beautiful. Great architecture and very beautiful gardens. Beautiful palace to visit and know more about the history of this place. The building of the palace, the architecture, the design, the aesthetics, the chandlers, the design on the roof, every corner of this palace is a masterpiece on its own. It's a must-visit place if you are in Cairo, don't miss it. Take the audio guide along with you to understand the palace better. They have a ticket for entry. You might need an hour or two to go around the palace.

For sure the biggest collection of historical fire arms and daggers I've seen anywhere. It has a very nice garden too. I'd recommend visiting it if you are staying in Cairo. Tickets can be bought on a small booth 100m before the entrance (inside a square, look for a sign in Arabic but with the word "ticket" in English)

I have never seen that many guns in one place 🤣. King Farouk had a huge collection of guns and most of them very unique pieces. The museum shows the evolution of guns over the years - silverware and gifts to the Kings from several head of states. Great way to learn the history of the Egyptian Monarchy

We visited here and were very happy with the time spent here. The self-directed walk through the various galleries was informative and gave some insight into the political history of the country. We parked in a pay-to-park lot behind the main building (same side though as the entrance). Not too expensive for either the entry or the parking. Pay the extra 10 for the right to take your phone in. There was no line (we were there on a Tuesday) and the staff was friendly enough but they take their job very seriously. Took tea before leaving for other explanations.

Very wonderful and historic palace, witness a luxurious and elegant building that although it is used as an administrative headquarters, does not leave aside the design work carried out by Egyptian, Turkish, Italian, and French architects. Being at the head of its construction Khedive Ismail. Numerous weapons are given to President Mubarak. In addition, a group of ancient weapons and excellent decorations received by illustrious characters and the royal family in Egypt are exhibited inside
