Undeniably one of the most iconic structures of the ancient world, Great Sphinx, a monumental sculpture depicting the mythical creature with the body of a lion and a human head, continues to overlook the surrounding landscape with a discerning gaze. Carved out of the bedrock, also used for the building of the nearby pyramids, the structure is 73 m (238 ft) long and 20.21 m (66.3 ft) high, measurements that make it one of the largest statues in the world. Most modern scholars believe it was built around 2500 BCE, with the face modeled on the pharaoh Khafra, whose tomb, the second pyramid of Giza, lies close by on the plateau. Amazing experience …just to be there .. unbelievable that it’s built 4000 yrs back… only Ancient wonder that still intact … trips can be made easily from Cairo ( 5 hrs round trip) and better to have through local car and guide

👌 Wow!!! What an amazing experience visiting this historic landmark. I was in complete Awe of the absolute fine details and carvings of the Sphinx. I booked my tickets in advance with a tour guide, we had a local tour guide whom spoke well English and explained the story in much detail. Tick off my bucket done ✔️

If you're ever in the area, make sure to check out the Great Sphinx of Giza – it's definitely a must-see in life! This iconic statue is located on the west bank of the Nile River, and it's one of the oldest and largest statues in the world. With its impressive size and mysterious history, it's no wonder that the Sphinx is such a popular tourist destination.

The most amazing experience of one of the great wonders of the world! The inside of the tomb has quite a bit of climbing and can be suffocating with less air. The sarcophagus is incredible made of red granite! Overall an unforgettable experience!

What words can explain the feeling you get standing just 50 or so yards away from one of the recognized moments in the world. My daughters were over come with excitement truing to kiss the Sphinx. Learning about the Sphinx does not compare to the experience of being here. Please. They Egyptian people are amazing. If you get a chance come visit this amazing country.
