Create an itinerary including Tallinn Town Wall
Part of Tallinn's old town World Heritage Site and replete with defensive gates, Tallinn Town Wall is one of the most complete examples of this kind of structure in the world. Originally constructed in the mid-13th century, the wall has undergone several upgrades, increasing in thickness and height to its current size. Wander through the town and along the 1.85 km (1.15 mi) length of the medieval wall as you examine its 20 different towers and multiple imposing entry gates. You'll get an up-close look at the structures that helped to defend Tallinn for centuries, and you can even walk on top of the wall for 200 m (656 ft) for sweeping views of the rest of the city. Be sure to stop by the "nun's tower," Sauna tower, and Kuldjala tower, as they are open to the public. • You get to see three of the towers off the town wall but you can do that at Kiek in de Kök and there you get to see a lot more museum items.

  • It's cool to see this place but it's not worth the €3 euros you pay to go in. It's a lot of other places in Tallinn wich is free and more exiting to see.
  • A beautiful place to explore with so much history. Well worth a visit for the views alone.
  • I loved that place very quiet. Challenging steps and 100s years history. Good place for photographers. City view. 2 euro for entrance.
  • Very old part of the wall from around 1200. Nice to go to when you walk past, it and when you own a Tallinn card
  • 2 euros to go up. Three towers to climb and a small elevated walkway between them. Took us about 30 minutes to do the whole thing. Not much information but some nice views of Old Town.
