Create an itinerary including Truk Lagoon
Known for its sunken shipwreck, Truk Lagoon represents one of Micronesia's top scuba diving spots. Thanks to the lagoon's status as a nationally protected historical site, the shipwreck remains largely untouched. Sunk during a World War II battle, the ship lies in relatively shallow water, a perfect depth for avid scuba enthusiasts. Expert local guides lead wreck dives, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience for all participants regardless of skill level. If you get tired of diving, take in the sun and scenery from the comfort of the lagoon's sandy beach. Our Chuuk road trip planner makes visiting Truk Lagoon and other Chuuk attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Looks can be deceiving, but once you try the food, the roads will just be another bump on the rod. Fresh seafood and nice smiling people

  • I was in Truk in 1976. Best diving in the world. The islands were dry (no alcohol) because of problems with alcoholism. The diving was exceptional.

  • If you like wreck diving, this is the greatest place on earth. Sure there are amazing wrecks sites around the world and you can travel a long ways to dive one of those wrecks. But here there are 40 or more wrecks in one location. At least 15 or more accessible to recreational divers.
  • Chuuk Lagoon is God's gift to scuba divers. The San Francisco Maru will always be one of the greatest dives of my career. If you're a diver and have any interest in wrecks at all, you'll book a ticket on the Odyssey. Best dive trip of my life, for sure.
  • Was in truk in the early 90s. Agree about the only thing available is wreck diving. At night though, hmmmm not that safe as a tourist. Them boys out there are a bit roudy.
  • Dove with the liveaboard Odyssey... absolutely fantastic!
  • I actually lived on this Island with my aunt and uncle, back in the 70's, it was a different time and it was truk island. I would love to visit again but the cost these days are to steep. I will always remember as a little kid being chased by the childredn because I was a skinny long haired white California boy. Spearing my first fish. Meeting some famous family ( kennedy). Chipped my tooth with a coconut, dont ask. Was a amazing time as a kid living on an island in the south Pacific .
