Occupying a quaint, 100-year-old building, Hakaniemi Market is the perfect place to browse for fresh fish, bread, and pastries, as well as other Finish delicacies. Architect Karl Hard af Segerstad designed this authentic two-story market place in 1914. The ground floor houses food vendors, while the second floor serves as home to souvenir shops selling handicrafts and interior designs, as well as a cozy cafe. Next to the food hall is the market square. Put Hakaniemi Market at the forefront of your travel plans using our Helsinki vacation maker app.

  • Excellent market. But under rated with tourists but you can find everything here without being packed with tourists. This is where locals go. Shops are nice, people friendly.
  • This is a quant mix of flee market and food market. It is an interesting place to visit. The food selection is wide and good. I like the quality of the food and the advice you get from the food sellers. Worth a visit and re-visit. :-)
  • A very nice, although not crazy big market hall. Recommended especially for the soup place that’s just a fantastic value.
  • A very nice, calm and cozy market area with small stalls of various items. There are a couple of cafés as well.
  • Modern style market place. Outside the building is nice cafeteria KahviSiskot. You should try crepes, salt or sweet.
