Hietalahti Market has been serving Finns a broad variety of fresh foods since opening in 1903. Originally made up of 116 wooden stalls, the hall today provides visual appeal from the outside thanks to its red-brick structure, green roof, and giant arched windows. Inside, an array of cafes and restaurants serve dishes made from local ingredients. To visit Hietalahti Market and other attractions in Helsinki, use our Helsinki trip itinerary builder website.

  • Tale a walk through the market square - you'll see a variety of vendors, from food to hand made goods and beyond. It's also a beautiful stroll along the water.

  • Very strategic location in Helsinki to taste local dishes and to purchase locally made handicrafts. It’s a cool place to stop for a snack or a drink if you are sightseeing and need a quick break...

  • Multiple eatery venues in one convenient location: Filipino, Japanese, portuguese, sandwiches..numerous vegetarian and.vegan options. Ideal location to have a plethora of food options varying from multiple locations across the globe. Only downsides are seating can be limited during rush hour time and most stands close early and / or over the weekend so make sure to contact early to ensure your desired eatery is serving food. Overall will return again in the near future.
  • Lots of good restaurants to choose from. Very good place to lunch especially during summer since its great to dine outside. There is a lot of space to sit and you can sit anywhere regardless of where you ordered. Lots of gems here in this historic atmospherical building. Prices are very reasonable compared to what quality you get.
  • Very Good Place to eat lunch. Go to Tokyo Streets, the are the best service and food.
  • Lovely part of town, but not the kind of market hall I thought it would be. Now all take away or dine in food stall, no market. Also, in the winter, only a handful of shops stay open, so the atmosphere is non-existent.
  • Comfortable and historical old market with modern day tasty restaurants. Kid friendly with play area.
