Old Market Hall, Helsinki

Lovely place to have seafood. Went for the stall that is located all the way at the end of the left aisle. Stall run by Vietnamese ladies. Very friendly. The salmon soup is superb! Do remember to go there with an empty stomach so that you can eat other food there.

Nice alleys with small shops at the sides. Most of the dishes are priced similarly though some shops have seating areas. Tried the salmon soup, cinnamon bun and hot chocolate at the Scandinavian cafe, did not disappoint.

The salmon and caviar stalls are spectacular. The marinated salmon and chilli prawns are excellent at all 3 stalls. The caviar is spectacular although it was sold to us saying that it was Russian and at home looking at the tin, we saw that it was from Greece, very good but it lies to you about the origin. Very good market in general although a bit expensive. It is a must visit.

Nice indoor market just near the open market. Opening timings have to be checked carefully. Nice for tourists and you can find a lot of things under one roof. But expensive. Filled with tourists. I would prefer to go to the other indoor market where locals go. Hakaniemi market

We went for lunch and had a salmon soup which was delicious (and gluten free) at the last stall in the center, facing left. The girl working there was extra lovely and funny. The rest of the stalls had very delicious looking specialties.
