  • If you are interested how people lived in Finland some time ago, begining from 1700-1800's, this is a good place to get somekind of idea about that. You will find many different kind of houses...

  • The old buildings and items are well maintained and well displayed. I didn't see many signs in English but the staff is helpful. Museum Opening Hours and Admission Prices: Opening hours in winter...

  • A great museum with a nice exhibition outdoors. Staff is quite friendly. The cafe selection could be larger but I think this is the only disadvantage.
  • It was a really nice place to visit. There is a sense of going back into time with the way the people of the area had lived. Places are restored well, and good explanations. In most cases there is information also available in English. There is little multimedia hence it is a great place to experience things using eyes than in virtual reality, or through a directors perception, and child friendly.
  • The museum presented a current overview of the activities and beliefs of the former healers, as well as an interesting presentation of the encounter of later arriving school medicine in the North Karelia region.
  • Very interesting, lots to see, make sure to have enough time!
  • Unique history. Interestin also for kids.
