Two of these were a source of controversy when they were first revealed: "The Garden of Death" represents a garden of dead souls harvesting flowers, and "The Wounded Angel" features a winged serpent in the center of the church's ceiling. The frescoes remain and today add to the ambiance of an otherwise modest church building. The artwork in the church, which was built between 1902 and 1907, serves as an example of the national Romantic movement in Finland. We went to a Christmas Carol service, it was so beautiful to hear these Finnish carols and in such beautiful surroundings. The artworks are just incredible and seeing in person is a must!

Just stepped in to see what it was like and felt like I had stepped back in time. What a beautiful church with beautiful stained glass windows and high vaulted ceilings. The organ is incredible with pipes that dwarf ones expectations. Well worth the time to visit and discover.
