Standing as a tribute to an ancient monastery, Basilique de la Visitation holds the remains of two saints. Two bronze sarcophagi celebrate the life of François de Sales, a well-loved bishop, and Jeanne de Chantal. The church was built by renowned architect Alfred-Henri Recoura from 1909 to 1930. Unfortunately this visit was a disappointment. The exteriir of the basilisque is impressive, and the location is great, but as just the outer part of the building was accessible, not the inner part...

With its tall gray granite pillars, it gives a look of majesty. And it’s also situated on top of a hill which gives an amazing view specially to the Alpes. The basilica has also the relics of the saint who created the order of visitation

The view is beautiful. The Basilica is closed from 1200 to 1400. Beautiful church but smaller than many in Europe. Wonderful gift store. Worth a visit. If you choose to be walk please note that it is a fairly steep climb.
