Musee Chateau has watched over the town below since the 12th century. However, the only part of the castle still standing from this time is the Queen’s Tower with its 4 m (13 ft) thick walls; the rest of the castle was completed in the 16th century. The structure suffered from multiple fires, but remained strong enough to serve as a military barracks until 1947. It's now a museum housing Alpine popular art, such as furniture, sculptures, photography, and modeled chalets. Stand on the castle terrace and look out over the narrow streets of the old town, or visit the lookout tower for a wider view of the area. • One of these days I really need to pay for the full tour, but I am always so taken by the town and the lake that I want more time to explore. This is a great example of the old world though and I do enjoy walking up to and around the area.
  • One of the best places to see the whole city of Annecy. The museum has a lot to see about the history, interesting things about the lake and etc. If you are visiting Annecy I think this is one of the places you should visit.
  • The history of the castle and the compound was interesting, but the art exhibits were okay. Good if they can allow us to explore the building to learn more about the history or just to admire the architecture. Requires a short climb up the hill.
  • Castle itself is an interesting building with an excellent vantage point of the city. I've seen better contemporary art exhibits but for the price overall I think was reasonable when comboed with the view
  • When I enter the entrance and go to straight I can meet good view but Château is not special, I think Château de Chillon in montreux is more better!!!
