St-Trophime Cloister (Cloitre St-Trophime)
St-Trophime Cloister (Cloitre St-Trophime) was built in the 12th century. The church features fine carvings. Notice the Roman influence on the architecture. See St-Trophime Cloister (Cloitre St-Trophime) and all Arles has to offer by arranging your trip with our Arles trip maker tool.

Well worth a visit. The cloister has been fairly recently renovated and some of the sculptures have been restored. Interesting to visit this alongside the Cathedral next door. Entry fee included...

Beautiful and well preserved cloister. Considering the buildings date back to the twelfth century, the detail of the workmanship is astonishing. You can tell a lot of time and effort has gone into the restoration process too. This was my favourite site in Arles - lots to see, and a beautiful sanctuary if you’re lucky enough to visit when it’s not too busy.

Visiting in December, the cloister was empty when we toured it. Like most cloisters, this was not particularly large or unique but worthwhile nonetheless. What was especially nice was the ability to see the cloister from the roof. As I mentioned in other Arles site reviews, this is a nice stop in a tour of multiple Arles locales with the LIBERTY pass. The cost, at the time of writing, was 5.5 Euro for this site...but we opted for the 12 Euro FOUR site visit pass where you can visit any of 6 different sites within Arles. If you are in Arles to explore its history, then this is a worthwhile cost; as well as all the other sites being within easy walking distance.
-
Beautiful and calm place in the middle of the city. Visiting Arles you can buy combined pass for 4 monumenta and 2 museums for just 9 € (ask for a discount if you stay in a hotel or Airbnb in Arles). We visited closter, arena and Roman theatre which would be about 20 € buying tickets separately. With the pass you have also discount in other monuments or castles around Arles.
