  • Peaceful and lovely and bright inside. Has 15th century glass windows but the building dates back to 7th century. No queues no charges.

  • One of the smaller churches in Auxerre, it probably receives fewer visitors but definitely is worth your time. Nice vaulting; some older stained glass (e.g., the Saint-Sebastian window dating to...

  • Amazing acoustics and a beautiful interior. @katie.wisemanx stopped by for a quick sing
  • The Saint-Eusèbe church located in the center of the historic heart of Auxerre. It dates from the 12th century. It was built on the foundations of a monastery dating from the 7th century which was to house the burial places of the bishops of Auxerre. It was dedicated to Saint Eusebius of Verceil.
  • Very beautiful church worth the visit. The church of Saint-Eusèbe was built between the 12th and 16th centuries on the foundations of a monastery created in the 7th century to house the tombs of the bishops of Auxerre. It was dedicated to Saint Eusebius of Verceil, famous for having fought the Arian heresy. From 1100, Saint-Eusèbe, priory of the canons regular of the abbey of Saint-Laurent-de-Cosne, became a parish in this neighborhood under construction. In the 18th century, the community, reduced to a few monks, was forced to sell land. During the Revolution, the convent disappeared completely and the church was turned into a prison until 1798. For the next three years, it was the center of Auxerre's decennial cult. In 1801, the Concordat gave it back the status of a Catholic parish and, in 1905, it became, like all the other churches, property of the city. The nave and its corridors present a construction made up of a transition between Romanesque and Gothic styles. In the Renaissance style, the choir and the axial chapel were rebuilt in the 16th century. Some of the windows from this campaign are still in place, in particular the one that retells José's story. Paintings from the 17th century and choir carvings (18th century) complete the decoration.
  • A very beautiful church. Exterior with extremely beautiful arches. Interior of light, beautiful architecture and ornaments. Here I felt incredible peace and tranquility. Just confusing.
  • Very nice church especially the interior
