Even as an atheist, I was really impressed with the grandeur and majesty of this building. Walking through it you can feel the history in every corner. Incredible to imagine all the resources and effort that went into building it so long ago and maintaining it for all that time. Really glad it (and the town) was not impacted by significant WW2 bombing.

In the centre of Bayeux, this grand cathedral is towering over its environment. Bayeux is a small town. It is easy to find your way around. The cathedral has stunning glass in lead windows and a high arching architecture. The entrance is free and 2.50€ lets you light a candle for peace or dedication. On Monday when we visited, it was not busy.

I went when the organs were playing, so the music definitely added to the ambiance and the grand architecture. The church is free to enter and is near so many local shops. It’s a good place to escape the rainy weather Normandy is notorious for.

Oh what a fabulous place. I'm not religious but, the sense of history and grandeur in this lovely building is overwhelming. The setting in the beautiful ancient town of Bayeux is wonderful.
