Chateau de Castelnaud, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle

This medieval castle has been beautifully renovated and turned into a lovely museum. The castle has beautiful gardens, interactive tours, a real forge (with live demonstrations), and many more. The castle and its tours are great for kids.

Fascinating castle set up high above the Dordogne river. Busy on a bank holiday, but we’ll worth a visit to explore the history. The guides are animated, fun and engage well with the audience. Ample parking and good facilities throughout.

A must visit when in the area. Beautiful castle and village underneath. Some staircases through the castle are dark and steep, so keep in mind if with children or elderly. Paid (cheap)car park 5 minute walk from the entrance

This is something, if you are in the neighbourhood you should see. Well maintained. You can get an tour with guide. We explored it ourselves. There are also demonstration during the day , very interesting with the information that they give. We say thank you for everyone who is working there , keeping this Château well kept and giving the visiters a pleasant experience 😀

I really liked this experience, apart from the classic castle exploration we had a pleasure to listen to the lovely lady who, wearing the traditional clothes, was sharing with us interesting facts on the nutrition of that époque. Magnifique 🌺
