It was so nice to see this indoor market that is gradually disappearing again. I went during the Christmas market season, of course it was crowded with people. It was informed that it was only open until 2 o'clock on Sunday, so I arrived in a hurry, but it was open until very late. The people were friendly and the food was delicious👍🏻

It's a nice market to visit once you're in Colmar. There are quite a number of shops with sausages, cheese, fresh fruits, spices and also restaurants you can even sit down outside by the water. It's definitely worth dropping by.

I would say this is a must visit in Colmar and an example of how a Produce Shop should look. The building looks really nice, a combination of stone walls, cast iron pillars and arcades and wooden stalls inside. The locals buy their vegetables, fish, meat and dairy products here, and there are also some bars where you can enjoy a tarte flambee or quiche with a good wine.

This feels as it was built for tourists. The market itself is tiny and it has very selective stalls in it. The buildingwas built in 1865. Due to its position on the banks of the Lauch, market gardeners could dock at the foot of the building. Since September 2010, work has been carried out to restore the building to its original purpose and contains some lovely streetart murals.

Inaugurated in 1865, this hall is the work of the architect Louis-Michel Boltz, who also designed the municipal theater of Colmar (1849). A veritable island, the covered market is surrounded by three streets and the Lauch, which allowed market gardeners to bring their products directly in flat-bottomed boats. The choice of materials used: bricks, iron and cast iron, bears witness to Colmar's transition to the industrial era. Since its restoration in 2010, the indoor market in Colmar once again hosts a permanent market, supplemented by stands outside every Thursday.
