Perhaps the most dramatic, exciting road in Corsica, Route de Bavella forms a roundtrip total of 112 km (69.5 mi). The road goes through a dense expanse of chestnut trees and old pines and rises steadily up to 1,218 m (3,996 ft), where you'll see the towering statue of "Notre Dame des Neiges" (Our Lady of the Snow). An amazing panorama of peaks and forest spreads out from the top to the northwest. The serrated granite ridge of the Cirque de Gio Agostino is dwarfed by the pink pinnacles of the Aiguilles de Bavella, and behind that soars Mount Incudine.
