Take the elevator 30 m (98 ft) below ground to browse the 18 km (11 mi) of champagne aging caves at Champagne via a train at Mercier. Since 1871, this company has produced exceptional champagne including their signature Vendange vintage, and they produced Dom Pérignon until 1930, before selling the brand.

Other signature champagnes include their Brut Mercier made from the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes and their Demi-Sec made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. This winery is owned under the label Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH), and their tour allows you to see the historical cellars, buildings, and grounds.

Tours are available by appointment only and are delivered via an audio guide in English, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Portuguese, and Russian. The tour closes with your choice of one, two, or three champagne tastings of one flute of Mercier Brut; or Mercier Brut and Brut Rosé; or Mercier Brut, Brut Rosé, and Brut Millésimé. • Great champagne tour of Mercier...visited on a very warm day (37 celcius)... The cool cellars were a welcome relief. Tour is on an electric train. Amazing carvings in the stone and a very informative tour guide. Highlight is the champagne tasting at the end and spending some cash at the store... Definitely recommended.
  • Mercier is one of the more innovative growers and their tour highlights that. Upon arrival you are given an audio device to select your language. While you wait for the tour to begin you can listen to history. The tour starts with a short informative video, using the audio device you listen in. The elevator down to the cellar also had a short video. Down below you hop on a train for the remainder of the tour. Back upstairs the tour guide shows you to the tasting room. The basic tour included one glass of champagne.
  • The champagne tour is worth trying for the production value alone! This place runs like a well-oiled machine, with a presentation done by projector on the walls as you go down the elevator, then a train ride through the cellars below. This is a huge champagne producer, and they act like it. The champagne is good and the tour facility is nice. You can see some of their vineyards near the tour site too, which is always cool!
  • FABULOUS! We picked this as our first stop with the kids and it was OUTSTANDING! Lovely entrance with history and a film that engaged the kids - then the elevator ride was delightful (and reminded us a bit of the bubble scene in the classic Willy Wonka film) - and then on to the train ride, which was a 100% winner with the kids! We bought a few bottles of a variety of their champagnes and cannot wait to share with friends! I wish there was a sixth star!!!
  • The tour of the cellar was amazing. I had no idea it was this large, and was shown while riding a train. Two thumbs up for marketing.
