Create an itinerary including Eglise Sainte-Radegonde de Giverny
Reputed as a site of mystery and ancient history, Eglise Sainte-Radegonde de Giverny is a church in the village of Giverny that dates from the Middle Ages. Built partially in Romanesque style, additions have since been made. It is dedicated to Ste.-Radegonde, who was said to have cured scabies. Some historians say Gallo-Roman graves were discovered in the churchyard in 1838. After you view the church, walk a short distance to the nearby ruined megalithic monument called St. Radegonde's Grave. It also testifies that Neolithic people used to live here. • What a beautiful country church. It has such history. Walk around the outside and read about the WW2 pilots. Walk to the end of the Street past Monet's gardens to visit his peaceful and beautiful slice of French history.
  • Very old and beautiful church.
  • A beautiful Romanesque church in Giverny that although damaged in World War II and restored is quite interesting. The Monet family is buried in the adjacent cemetery as well as a British bomber crew shot down nearby during the war. Well worth the visit and just down the road from Monet's home.
  • I love old European churches. Whenever I get a chance, I visit them and light a candle and pray for my family and friends back home. And I'm not Catholic...
  • Lancaster crew buried in the church yard, and a memorial to them, oh yes Claude Monet is buried there too.
