A 17th century chateau, Chateau of Maisons-Laffitte was built by François Mansart for René de Longueil, who went on to be Louis XIV's Superintendent of Finances. Its architecture is one of the best examples of French classical art. During your tour of the chateau, you will discover the impressive open staircase and its sculpted and restored décor. Also take time to see the King's apartment and his famous Cabinet des Miroirs as well as the superb decor in the Comte d'Artois' dining room.

A horse racing museum is available as well, including two permanent exhibitions in the former kitchens of the chateau. • Very nice experience in the heart of Paris for vising a Chateau. We'd a special tour which was very informative with a lot of information shared with the group.

  • A really lovely place to visit, with a dynamic and welcoming team. I took the audio guide in English but also tried to listen to a bit of the guided tour in French, which runs at the weekend. Both were free and super interesting. Next time I'll try and do the full guided tour en français !
  • Versailles was closed and fully booked so we came here instead. Love it! It's well preserved and not too many tourists. Recommended to buy tickets online through 3rd party, it's cheaper.
  • I was just awestruck seeing the architecture of this castle and listening to long history behind the castle. It is a must visit place.
  • Visited to watch Beauty and the Beast — beautifully done production throughout the castle. I recommend buying tickets early.
