  • Art brut, naive art, outsider art, pop art, post-Dada... call it what you will, there's plenty of slightly left-field and definitely thought-provoking modern painting and sculpture at the Cérès...

  • This is a great museum. It is worth the trip. Great exhibition of outsider feminist art when we were there. The staff were lovely too, gave us lots of information.
  • Vibrant, well presented modern art from the extensive collection of a now-deceased Brazilian-French gallerist and collector, housed in a light and spacious ex-wine co-op building. Majors on art brut, outsider art, naif art, folk art, autodidacts and even CoBrA, plus loud, passionate art that can't easily be classified, by a range of truly international (but seldom 'big name') artists from the 1960s to 2000s. There is a different themed exhibition each season - 2021's is Les Voleurs de Feu, reflecting the genius, pain and delight of the human condition. Most definitely worth a visit, as is the picturesque and historic village of Montolieu with its bookshops, galleries, restaurants / bars and lively cultural scene.
  • Superb building with a really interesting exhibition. The person working there was very knowledgeable and explained the show very clearly and enthusiastically which really helped our appreciation.
  • Always interesting plus Montolieu (hope I've spelt that properly)is well worth a visit in it's own right
  • Calm and relaxed atmosphere. Very well maintained. +++
