Create an itinerary including Massena Museum
The neoclassical Italianate architecture of Massena Museum was inspired by the Rothschild villa in Cannes. A very skillful restoration of the historic gardens was conducted in 2006-2007, which restored the original luster of the aristocratic mansion. The villa is surrounded by a courtyard, a French garden, and a great lawn. Wander past remarkable plants, such as the Magnolia grandiflora, Araucaria excelsa, Melaleuca, and Brachychiton populneum. • Opens at 10 in the morning but a little gem of a museum. Takes about 1.5 hours to visit and it is very interesting in seeing some of the history of Nice

  • A very interesting museum in the centre of Nice which I would fully recommend for anyone to visit if they have the time during their stay in Nice. It’s great to see some of the history of the area...

  • Surprisingly more interesting than I expected. Much more than the Residential Villa in golden finishing that I thought it was. It's a great trip through history. A storyteller of the City development into a holiday winter destination of North European aristocracy. Includes excellent examples of fashion jewellery, outfits and memorabilia. Highly recommended. The garden is also worth a stroll.
  • Villa Masséna is a wonderful museum, right in the center of Nice. It has a beautiful park around. There are 2 floors. The ground floor is with adorable decorated rooms and in the living room you can see interesting movie about history of Nice and Villa. The first floor has unexpected things: not only pictures, but some jewelry and costume elements. Highly recommend 👌
  • The Villa itself is impressive and large. There are 3 different floors with the top one being reserved for temporary exhibitions. I would warn people that most of the tour is in french which makes it complicated to understand what we are looking at. Otherwise great visit and fully worth the price.
  • Great historical location in Nice, definitely worth visiting. You can take an audio tour guide. Beautiful interiors and garden, take your time and enjoy such a great location. We liked garden the most with orange trees and palms surrounding the villa.
  • Beautiful museum. Mosaic floors. Empress Josephine's coronation Cape and diadem. Beautiful fin de siecle posters for the height of French Riviera chic. Photos , paintings and maps. There are toilets downstairs. Staff at the ticket office were lovely. Security staff were very present.
