Create an itinerary including World War 2 Museum
Experience life under Nazi-occupied France at World War 2 Museum, a museum dedicated to documenting and displaying a timeline of World War II's most important events. When the country fell to the Germans in 1940, life changed dramatically for its citizens. Follow these changes from defeat to liberation, when in 1944 Allied forces triumphantly swept in from the beaches at Normandy. Learn about how French people coped, tried to go about their normal lives, and ultimately organized a significant resistance. Wander the recreated streets, homes, and shops designed to appear as they did during the war, complete with dioramas of everyday scenes. • Awful treatment by the museum staff at reception - most unwelcoming. Such a shame, as the museum content and layout are very good, and what would otherwise have been a lovely visit was spoiled. I...

  • Great models but could do with more explanatory signage
  • What a absolute wonderful exhibition. To start with,at only 9 euros entrance fee ,this was a really great addition to our tour of the area. The detail and collection of artifacts is wonderfully displayed. The memorabilia section is really special.l must say, whomever thought of the layout deserves due credit.
  • Excellent place to visit, well laid out little musem with interesting models. Good description on every level of the war in France. Highly recommend.
  • An entertaining step back in time to a difficult time in our history. It is a history that many of us know by heart already, but as you step through the museum and read the placards it comes alive as you see the assortment of memorabilia. For such a monumental event, that literally changed modern history, you wish the museum was much larger, but we enjoyed it.
  • Very nice museum. Lots of equipment, information and dioramas. Interesting that part of it incorporates the remains of a beach defense bunker and it still has the gun. Lots of models as well. Recommended
