  • Amazing prestige tour. Little bit about history, than we went into vineyards and rooms for making wine. Finished with nice wine tasting with cheese and bread.

  • I came for a tour and tasting at Chateau Cantenac with my dog. It was the perfect experience. Loved hearing about the history of the winery and hearing details about the process of wine making. The guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. I asked many questions and they were all given thorough, thought out answers. I ended up buying 6 bottles but wish I had room for more!
  • I don't usually write reviews but we had such a lovely time visiting Chateau Cantenac. You can tell AJ is a professional at what she does - very knowledgeable and providing not only the family history but also comprehensive education about the whole process (in English nonetheless!). On top of that, she went above and beyond for us when we were late, and also even called a few wine shops in town when we asked for additional recommendations! The generous tastings and being able to explore the grounds including the cellar were a great experience as well. Would definitely recommend!
  • Wonderful family owned vineyard. We showed up a little late to the tour but we were still able to join and had a great time! The wine is delicious, the place is gorgeous, and AJ is very knowledgeable.
  • While visiting the Bordeaux region, Chateau Cantenac stood out as our favorite tour. Unlike many wine tours (both in the area and in the States), AJ took us beyond the usual winemaking story to speak specifically about the history of the vineyard as well as the behind the scenes process of growing and harvesting the grapes. Highly recommended for both the uninitiated and the experienced wine tourist! (Pro-tip: Give yourself extra time with this one as it’s not your standard 1-hour talk, taste, leave experience.)
  • An excellent small chateau. Requires reservations so make sure you set it up. I was cautiously trying my broken French during the reservation process with AJ and she entertained me throughout. Went there and while talking to her I learnt that she grew up in the SF Bay Area, effectively my neighbor - what the... I could saved myself the embarrassment of my poor French. Anyway, kinda laughed it off :). It is a small winery and as a general rule (IMO) you want to visit the small ones for your wine tasting - better interaction with the team, small groups and most importantly very good wines that don't break the bank. AJ was very knowledgeable - she walked through the whole wine making process and wove the family/chateau history into the conversation. Very engaging conversation, talked the various appellations, what it requires to get certified and whole lot more. Along the way AJ dispelled a lot of myth around the wine making process - she's a certified sommelier BTW. Very refreshing and really made me comfortable to ask questions, etc. After an hour long tour of the property, we went to the chateau for the wine tasting. 4 rounds. They were very good, some in €30 range and some €60. I asked AJ for dinner suggestions and she recommended L'envers du Decor - which turned out to be excellent. Great experience, highly recommend.
