Calanque de Maubois, Saint-Raphael

What can I say? This is one of my favourite beaches, not only in France or Europe but in the world. It is about a 30 minute drive from Cannes on the curvy coast road that leads to Saint Raphael. If you blink, you'll miss it as you can't see it from the road. Either use your Navigation system or pay attention to a lot of parked cars on the side of the road for no apparent reason. That is the first point, unless you want to park your car precariously on the side of the busy and quite tight road, get there quite early to catch yourself one of the off-street parking spaces. Once parked up, head down the first flight of steps until you get your first glimpse of the gorgous cove and it's beautiful turquoise waters. Then continue down until you reach the red pebble beach which is best with swimming shoes. Make the most of the beautiful waters by taking your snorkeling equipment as there are quite a lot of fish including quite large sea bass and bream. I recommend sitting to the left of the stairs as the sun disappears at about 4pm on the beach to the right. But what ever you do, DO go there and enjoy it!!

Great place for a swimm, but there is no shower and no shade, so just for the nature lovers.
