Villa & Jardins Ephrussi de Rothschild
Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild constructed Villa & Jardins Ephrussi de Rothschild between 1905 and 1912. Each of the villa's nine lush gardens has a unique theme: Florentine, Spanish, French, exotic, a stone garden, Japanese, rose, Provençal, and a garden de Sèvres. Formed under the direction of landscape architect Achille Duchêne, the gardens form the shape of a ship, meant to be viewed from the terrace of the house. The shape was inspired by the architect's voyage on the liner Île de France. The original gardeners were dressed as sailors, wearing berets with red pom-poms. Stunning and really versatile gardens and a great audio tour (via an app on your phone) about the woman who had the villa built. The views over the bay alone would be enough reason to visit. We had lunch in the tea room and although it was a bit pricey the taste and quality was certainly worth its price. Only downside to my visit was that there are renovations underway at the front facade of the building. They are necessary and I’m happy they are keeping the villa in good shape, but it was a pity I couldn’t see the villa in all its glory, I guess I have a reason to come back.

One of the greatest locations to have a wedding, and with good reason. Very private, very stunning, and has incredible views. I love all the spots here at the gardens where you can host your small and intimate ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The staff are incredibly friendly and are very helpful in guiding you around and showing you the best spots for your wedding photography as well! As a wedding photographer, this venue is on top of the list for the best experience!

This is a beautiful estate with immaculate gardens. The views from the property are incredibly beautiful. We didn’t spend much time touring the house but instead spent most of the time wandering the gardens. The restaurant was also nice. If you go sit outside and enjoy the amazing views.

What a fantastic place! Indoor exhibitions, lovely villa, a garden with musical fountains every 20 minutes or so and several different themed botanical gardens - all overlooking bays on both sides of the peninsula. Restaurant on site with very posh looking dining area.

Absolutely gorgeous! Friendly staff, fair entry fees (16€ / day / adult) and the most breathtaking views. The villa is located on basically its own hill, encompassing numerous differently-themed gardens, gorgeous water fountains that "dance" on classical music and fairytale views of the sea that are worth every shot (especially for "the 'Gram"). The inside of the residence is a time capsule overall, but you must check out the balcony where you can see the whole thing in perspective (and maybe also feel princessy vibes, as I did). It's a piece of heaven really, a must see if you're in Nice, as getting there with public transportation is not rocket science.
