Faarumai Waterfalls, Arue

An easy walk/hike with a big reward! Ample parking and very few crowds when we visited on a weekday afternoon. Signage off the main road makes getting here simple! Almost wheelchair accessible despite a few short steps on a bridge over the creek. Tons of foliage and flowers, bamboo forest, and a couple foot paths to explore here. Photos do not do this place justice. Highly recommend!

Very easy access to three waterfalls. Only a lot of stairs. But beautiful waterfalls. If you don't want to hike for hours this is the place. If you are a hiker, this is too easy, and I wouldn't even call it a hike, more just at tourist place.

The Faarumai waterfall is one of three waterfalls in the area, but they were doing construction on the other two waterfalls in 2018 when we came last and again in 2022, so we haven't visited the other two waterfalls, just this Faarumai one. The place is well-kept and maintained to look great, sometimes there's local vendors who sell fruit there. There are beautiful spots in the forest and some bamboo too. A cute bridge and stream as well.

Very easy hike, we really enjoyed it. We came in the evening (around 5.30PM), there weren’t many people. I would definitely recommend it to everyone who visits Tahiti.

If you are on Tahiti, you must see this! Beautiful short hike to the waterfall... super easy to find and the walk to the waterfall is out of a movie gorgeous! (Do bring insect repellent, once you get close to the falls, the bugs multiply by 1,000!) Do not miss this "beauty in nature" experience, plus very easy to access. Google maps takes you right to it!
